A Case Study: Viromissile & 3DforScience
Viromissile is on a mission to develop a one-shot intravenous viral immunotherapy capable of eliminating primary and metastatic tumors. To communicate the science behind IDOV-Immune — their flagship engineered Vaccinia virus — Viromissile partnered with 3DforScience to create an engaging main video, four looping web animations, and detailed static visuals that showcase the innovation and mechanism of this next-generation therapy.

The main video explains how IDOV-Immune survives the bloodstream, infects cancer cells, and spreads rapidly to eradicate tumors throughout the body. Visuals detail how its genetic payload releases cytokines that attract NK cells, activate dendritic cells, and mobilize T cells — transforming a cold tumor into a hot one and shifting macrophages from M2 to M1 for robust tumor clearance.
The looping assets and infographics reinforce these core ideas on Viromissile’s website: a rotating Vaccinia virus, genetic payload exposure, an animated funnel illustrating drug development efficiency, and variations showing different IDOV versions with highlighted genetic edits.

Working closely with Viromissile’s research team, 3DforScience visualized the virus’s structure, its replication cycle, and immune activation in precise, dynamic sequences. We designed each visual to convey Viromissile’s unique value: robust immune activation from a single dose, systemic tumor targeting, and lower risk of toxicity compared to traditional treatments.
Our workflow combined storyboarding, 3D virus modeling, genetic editing visuals, microenvironment transitions, and medical-grade animation techniques. Each looping segment was optimized for seamless web display, while static illustrations highlighted differences among IDOV-Safe, IDOV-Stealth, IDOV-Immune, and IDOV-AntiAngio variants.

Rather than dry infographics, the visuals follow the virus in action — traveling through blood vessels, infecting tumors, and unleashing an orchestrated immune attack. This approach helped Viromissile convey not just the science but the clinical promise of a “one-shot” systemic cancer cure.

From initial scripts to final loops and hero visuals, our production team collaborated with Viromissile’s scientific and marketing leads to ensure scientific accuracy and brand consistency. Deliverables included the main explainer video, four looped animations for the website, and multiple high-resolution virus infographics.

This complete visual toolkit now powers Viromissile’s website, investor presentations, and educational outreach, clearly communicating how IDOV-Immune offers a disruptive new approach in viral immunotherapy — with the potential to combat a broad range of cancers in a single treatment.
“Viromissile trusted us to transform complex virology into a captivating visual story. Together, we showcased how a smart engineered virus could redefine systemic cancer treatment.”
