ABOUT
CLIENT:
Sappi is a globally diversified wood fiber group focused on providing dissolving wood pulp, paper pulp, paper-based, and biorefinery solutions to its customers in over 150 countries.
SERVICE: 3DforScience’s science and graphic design teams translated with the maximum detail the concepts and ideas of the Sappi team into 3D animation with crafted drawings, to show how micro and nano-fibrillated cellulose suspended in water can be used to accommodate particles homogeneously through the 3D network.

The goal is to get attention
For this project, the graphic design team used scientific animation to show the technology from the company at a glance in one video and it also grabs the attention of the users on its corporate website. Our scientific animation solution can also be embedded in PowerPoint presentations and websites. Sappi has developed Valida, an innovative way of producing high-quality nanocellulose which then can be easily dispersed into a variety of matrices and can be used to accommodate particles homogeneously through the 3D network. This, lends Valida to a wide range of industrial applications and everyday products, for example, paints and coatings, adhesives, cosmetics, and concrete.
High-quality animation for scientific communication
Nanocellulose is a lightweight, solid substance obtained from cellulosic fibers and it is comprised of crystalline and amorphous regions. Representing the incredible qualities of this material, to improve the marketing strategy of this project, has been the task of 3dforscience’s animation team.
Sappi Biotech is committed to investing resources to develop applications of Valida’s unique benefits. Project proposals are invited from customers and academic institutions who are committed to exploring and developing applications for this wonder material.
