As we already know and have seen previously in this blog, animation is not only a format for entertainment in video games, movies, and cartoon series.

This type of technology is used a little more each day, as well as in Science, with the most promising results. Let’s get to know more about Human Body 3D Animation.

3D human body animation: learning

Some papers have shown that students understand and learn processes better when there are interactive media in which they can see immersed.

In this sense, many educational institutions and universities have implemented methods such as 3D to explain the concepts more clearly to their students. So medical animation is used to explore and visualize human anatomy and health diseases with photorealistic images and microscopic precision.

These techs enhance the way students learn and healthcare professionals practice.

A specific case

Here we have an example for an application of this type of technology to explain processes in the human body.

In this snippet, created by the 3Dforscience team, we can see some joint pathologies that occur with inflammation and erosion of cartilage and are caused by an immune response against fragments of type II collagen. Type II collagen is the main structural protein of cartilage, which gives it flexibility and resistance.

Collagens are the most abundant family of proteins in the extracellular matrix of connective tissues. They carry out an important variety of biological functions, the best known of which is their structural role.

According to its three-dimensional structure, 26 different types of collagen have been described.

This new graphic language incorporates the possibility of illustrating any process including its temporal dimension by generating an animated infographic with which to describe any scientific phenomenon.
