Cardiac diseases: explain them with 3D

7 Minutes

The human heart normally beats between 50 and 100 times per minute. Think about what it takes to maintain that heart rate throughout life and how to avoid cardiac diseases. It is difficult to imagine a more perfect machine, but how does the heart work?

The heart has two chambers, the atrium, and the ventricle, that works together to provide the body with the oxygen it needs to live. Oxygen-depleted blood from the body flows through the valves in the chambers to the heart, where it is pumped to the lungs.

The oxygen-rich blood then returns to the heart and is subsequently pumped back to the body; But sometimes, people suffer from conditions, injuries, or diseases that affect this process and can seriously affect their health: it can be the beginning of cardiac diseases.

And although many people have a general understanding of the working principles and functions of the heart, few people, except doctors, researchers and clinicians, understand how complicated the heart works.

Some of the most common conditions of Cardiac diseases:

Heart rhythm problems -cardiac arrhythmias- occur when the electrical impulses that coordinate the heartbeat do not work properly, causing the heart to beat too fast, too slow, or irregularly.

Cardiac arrhythmias can cause you to have a fluttering feeling in your chest or a racing heart and can be harmless. However, some cardiac arrhythmias can cause uncomfortable and sometimes fatal signs and symptoms.

Ventricular tachycardia

Ventricular tachycardia is a heart rhythm disorder -arrhythmia- produced by abnormal electrical signals in the lower chambers of the heart. This condition is also known as V-tach or TV.

When you have ventricular tachycardia, your heart beats faster than normal, usually 100 or more beats per minute.

Chaotic heartbeats prevent the chambers of the heart from filling properly with blood. As a result, your heart may not be able to pump enough blood to the body and lungs.

Atrial fibrillation

Atrial fibrillation is a fast, irregular heart rate that can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications. During atrial fibrillation, the two upper chambers -atria- of the heartbeat chaotically and irregularly, out of coordination with the two ventricles of the heart. Symptoms of atrial fibrillation generally include palpitations, shortness of breath, and weakness.

Episodes of atrial fibrillation may come and go, or there may be constant atrial fibrillation that may require treatment.

Detailed cardiovascular system animation

3D medical cardiology animation is an attractive format because it is possible to show descriptive and explanatory content pleasantly, making it easier for patient understanding. It allows viewers and professionals to see the complexity of the heart and cardiac function in 3D animation, acting as a visualization tool that provides detailed information about the cardiovascular system.

In this video done by the 3DforScience team to Spanish Nurses Association, we can see how the 3D animation can be used to explain Cardiac diseases, such as arrhythmia, its causes, effects, prevention, and treatment, with a more detailed and understandable mode.

Also, a heart animation video ii can be a useful tool to show cardiac surgical procedures and to demonstrate new cardiovascular treatment technologies. Medical students and patients can comprehend how the surgery works, what the benefits are, and how the surgeon performs the procedure.
